What type of due diligence does Puro do on suppliers?

For Suppliers that work with Puro for certification, our ‘due diligence’ process is centered on assessing eligibility under Puro’s methodologies at a project-level and for CORC generation. Our process is to write the methodologies and operationalize them (i.e., define which criteria must be met and how, develop templates and documentation requirements for evidence, etc.). The Supplier is then responsible for preparing their audit packages to demonstrate that they meet the methodology requirements with the necessary evidence, and this is then verified by a third-party auditor. The auditor then prepares a public audit report and statement, which is published to the registry with an overview of what was assessed and the key findings.

As such, the due diligence completed through certification varies based on the methodology and its requirements; to see the main points that are assessed you can browse an audit report within the documents section of any project listed on the Puro Registry. This of course only applies to projects once they have gone through a Facility and/or Output audit through Puro; for earlier-stage facilities, we have an optional Preliminary Assessment service which assess compliance to the methodology and project maturity in the design phase. This results in a public report which can be found in the “Supplier Listings” section of our website for Suppliers who have gone through this assessment and made the report public. Additionally, we complete KYC/KYB checks on all Suppliers that set up a registry account.
